Before Pearl Harbor

Before the morning of December 7, 1941, the USS Arizona stood as the pride of the United States Pacific Fleet—an engineering achievement of steel, firepower, and quiet American confidence. Commissioned in 1916, she represented a nation coming into its own, prepared and self-assured.

At Pearl Harbor, she became something else entirely.

When the forward magazine detonated, the ship was lost in minutes. More than a thousand sailors never left her decks. The Arizona did not simply sink; she was transformed into a permanent marker in history. Today, she still rests where the course of the modern world shifted, a memorial visible beneath the water’s surface.

This model is built with that gravity in mind.

Museum-Grade Specifications

Scale: 1:192 museum scale

Dimensions: 92” L × 16” W × 32” H

Construction: Handcrafted hardwood hull with metal fittings and brass detailing

Weight: Approximately 24 lbs

Display: Museum-quality hardwood cradle with engraved brass nameplate

Production Time: 6 weeks per commission

At nearly eight feet long, this model commands space the way the original once commanded a harbor. The scale allows the design to breathe—the turrets sit with authority, the deck geometry reads clearly, and the silhouette is unmistakable even from across a room. This is a piece meant to be lived with, not passed by.

Built to Archival Standards

Each USS Arizona model is handcrafted to order by master shipwrights with decades of naval modeling experience. No two builds run simultaneously. Your commission receives focused attention across more than 200 hours of construction, guided by period-accurate plans from the National Archives and historical reference photography from the Naval History and Heritage Command.

The hull is planked by hand using individual hardwood strips—never molded. The superstructure is assembled piece by piece. The iconic cage masts are constructed from individual metal struts, mirroring the original engineering. Railings, ladders, gun directors, and deck fittings are all present, because omitting them would compromise historical truth.

This is not decoration.

This is documentation in three dimensions.

Protected Like the Investment It Is

A piece of this caliber deserves respect in transit. Each model ships using a museum-grade, multi-layer crating system: a custom wooden frame, impact-resistant foam, marine plywood sheathing, and a reinforced exterior carton. White-glove handling is used from workshop to doorstep.

Fully insured shipping is included.

If it doesn’t arrive exactly as it left the workshop, we rebuild it.

Who This Is For

This model is created for collectors who understand that:

  • Historical accuracy is non-negotiable
  • True craftsmanship takes time
  • Objects of significance become heirlooms
  • Some stories deserve to be held, not summarized

The USS Arizona is not a ship to romanticize. It is a grave, a monument, and a turning point in history. This model exists to honor that weight—quietly and without compromise.

Availability & Commission

Due to the intensive handcrafting process, only a limited number of USS Arizona models are commissioned each year. Current production lead time is approximately 12–14 weeks from order confirmation.

Each model is individually numbered and includes a signed certificate of authenticity detailing construction dates, materials, and the builder responsible for the piece.

30-day satisfaction guarantee upon delivery.

If the model does not meet your expectations upon arrival, it may be returned for a full refund (less shipping). We’ve never had one come back.

Owning a USS Arizona model isn’t about owning a ship.

It’s about holding a chapter of history in three dimensions—quiet, imposing, and unflinching.

Please Note: Ships are MADE TO ORDER. Delivery time may take 7-8 weeks.
